K7
Developing and operating
renewable power plants across Italy
ABOUT
K7 was founded in 2005 to build and operate run-of-river hydroelectric (ROR) generation power plants on flowing rivers.
K7 founder, Pierre Sicouri, was a brilliant entrepreneur, moved by passion for nature also thanks to his remarkable experience as sailor and mountaineer.
Today at K7 we directly operate 5 RORs, generating 8 GWh in renewable energy that make a profound positive and sustainable impact on the territory and communities where we are present.
ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT
K7 hydroelectric plants are built on pre-existing weirs, built by public administrations, for the hydraulic planning of the waterways.
They are equipped with fish scales, which allow the reconstruction of the fluvial continuity of the section subjected to water derivation, otherwise interrupted by the existing weir. They thus create a biological corridor that allows the fish fauna to reach the breeding sites. We monitor in real-time the release of the DMV, the Minimum Vital Outflow.
Our plants are built with local material, which allows for optimal integration into the landscape, and maximum recycling of existing material on site. We adopt all kinds of precautions to respect the river ecosystem and the nature of the places.
They are also designed with the utmost respect for local environmental standards, limiting the visual and acoustic impact with avant-garde technology.
